Are sick and tired of trying to correct your credit reports?

Yesterday, NACBA joined with consumer advocates in supporting “The Consumer Reporting Fairness Act,” legislation introduced by Senators Sherrod Brown (D, OH), Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Dick Durbin (D-IL), Al Franken (D-MN), and Jeff Merkley (D-OR) which would amend bankruptcy law to require creditors to ensure that a debt discharged in bankruptcy shows a zero balance on the consumer’s credit report in an accurate and timely manner. The bill also would permit consumers to take legal action against creditors that fail to report a discharged debt that is no longer owed.
As soon as the bill has a number, we will let you know so you can write to your senators in support.
Below is Senator Brown’s news release quoting NACBA president Ed Boltz, among others.
