Are you unable to pay your bills but you don't want to see an attorney yet?

I suggest you receive a credit counseling briefing from an approved credit counseling agency. It usually runs around $25.00 on average. WHat’s the harm? They can analyze your situation. When a person does file a Bankruptcy ,the law requires that each debtor filing take a credit counseling course BEFORE and then again after filing a Bankruptcy. This is good for 180 days before filing. You can accomplish two things at once if your credit counselor thinks you should consult with a Bankruptcy attorney and you end up filing.
See 11 U.S.C. section 109(h).
